mediageneral1Media General is slashing certain publishing businesses as advertising revenue plummets.

The company, which owns the Richmond Times-Dispatch, revealed this week they will cut publication of two North Carolina newspapers from five to only two days per week.

At the end of March, the Reidsville Review and the Eden Daily News will be printed only on Wednesday and Sunday, according to a story in the Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area.

Both papers are located in North Carolina’s Triad region, and serve towns with a combined population of about 30,000.

Media General’s stock closed Tuesday at $1.28 a share, down 26%.
