Economic Experts to Discuss the Real Scoop on the Economy at Venture Forum

What impact will the current federal stimulus program have on the economy? Are there entrepreneurial opportunities in the stimulus? What can venture capitalists learn from the downturn, and look for in the recovery? Those questions, and others that look at the recession, possible recovery signals, and how the stimulus will affect short and long term economic growth in the Virginia and US economies, will be the topics of a panel discussion at the Venture Forum’s May luncheon on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Virginia Historical Society.

The panelists:
•    Jerry Giles, Director of Finance, Virginia Economic Development Partnership
•    Oleg Korenok, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, VCU School of Business
•    Brian Kroll, Senior Economist, Virginia Economic Development Partnership
•    A. Fletcher Mangum, Managing Partner, Mangum Economic Consulting, LLC
The Forum’s May luncheon is sponsored by Equity Capital Corporation, specialists in real estate development and financing. The Equity Companies offer a number of financing products through its five subsidiaries: Equinet, Equity Mortgage, Equity Capital, Equity Real Estate, and Equity Associates. The Equity Capital Corporation offers business acquisition, merger, and expansion financing.
