So we are probably go foward even though they want to build a Hotel, Museum, GRTC station all good things but they also want to build Condos which we already have plenty of vacant places that one one wants to buy. This will drive up the market because the old places now have to compete with the new glut not counting Echo Park and the Firehouse locations also up for consideration. If they plan to rent them out they are competing with apartments which we have in large supply . Lets see there is all the locations Main Street Reality has including the new Cold Storage place. The Tobacco Warehouse and all the other vacant apartments that people don't rent because the prices are inflaited because the Market refuses to go down. Then We have the Store space which Richmond has the highest Vacancy rate in the country. So far sounds like we are trying to pay for this Ballpark with Items that we can't seem to find tenants anywhere else in Richmond. This makes so much sense especially since they will pay for a venue that can only host Outdoor Games and possibly a concert or 2 which will be loud and irritate the Condo owners you might have convinced to move into the complex.

I love how the people who support this project sweep all this under the rug and attack anyone and everyone who have concerned with projects that claim to help but in the long run tend to hurt the very area they say they will help. 300 million for something that has less than 2 decades of life and there is no saying that people will support the new team enough to pay for the Ballpark. 5 to 10 years later when we are still paying in Taxes for all of this and the Team has moved where do we go from there? It may sound negative but it is based in reality with all the other projects that have been sold and did not deliver.
