The only "insulation" that continues unabated is that between County officials and the real world.

Where's the 10% across-the board wage and salary freeze [20% for those officials costing more than $200,000/year]? Where's the 10% census reduction in administration?

Stegmaier and the Board refuse to admit they overpaid for under-qualified personnel in a hot sellers' market from 2005-2007, e.g. the Director of Economic Development and, thus, refuse to upgrade the County's talent at 60 cents n the dollar or less.

Stegmaier and the Board refuse to admit that the Assessors Office is totally out of control ... that they manipulate statistics and the law to continue to argue that property values in the County have been immune from the national [and natural] correction ... which, unless this is corrected, the area will suffer badly when and if sales of pre-existing homes picks up.

It all boils down to an inept government which has buried their heads in the sand.

We threw the bums out last time and it's heading that way the next opportunity.
