I own a Vinci Custom Pro RV65 for softball. I own many other "high end" gloves for softball and baseball (Rawlings PRODJ2, Wilson A2000 G4, 1796, A1000 SB13, Nokona AMG1200, AMG650K).

Objectively I would say the Vinci is, at the very least, equal to any of the mentioned models. I would say this in terms of quality of construction/durability, performance, and comfort. Personally I like it the most of any of my gloves. It is very comfortable, but also has the reinforcement to maintain a great open shape (it is my experience that these attributes typically come at the cost of one another). Overall, for me, it has the performance/playability of a Wilson and the toughness of a Rawlings, while being more comfortable than either, thus making it my top choice.

Great glove maker, I would recommend looking into their product.

[...] 7. Peter Vinci, Vinci Pro When you talk to lots of startups, you hear a common refrain: “We just don’t have the money for marketing, and that’s what we need to get the word out.” Peter Vinci found a way around that. The Richmond-based maker of baseball mitts – run by a father/son team – gives them to minor league players, and when those players move up to the big leagues, they stick with their glove. The company sells more than 65 types of gloves and styles that cost between $50 and $250. The company was featured in Fortune and an RBS story . [...]

I've known Pete for a few years and his dedication to producing a good on field product is well documented. I personally use one of his gloves and love it. I agree with David when he said it is a good opportunity to buy local and support one of our own. Good job Pete.

I didn't know about Vinci until now. What a great opportunity for Richmond area ballplayers to "buy local" and support our economy. Also a touching story about a son's devotion to his father. We'll be checking out Vinci gear for next season for our family.
