Every week we run a list of businesses that have filed licenses in the metro area. And each week we try and pick out a few of the more interesting names. Partly that’s to make the story less dry. But there may be some instruction in it, it turns out because there is a risk in being too edgy.
A Wall Street Journal story today explains how an entrepreneur who hires former convicts is catching all sorts of grief for his shop “Felony Franks.”
The irony, the employees — most of whom are in fact ex cons — don’t seem to really care. They are happy to have stable employment.
But he may have gone overboard. It’s a good read.
Then again, all the publicity is probably great for business.
