Richmond lost more construction jobs over the last year than other parts of Virginia, according to statistics from the Associated General Contractors of America.
Employment in construction, mining and logging fell 17 percent in Richmond from August of 2008 to August 2009. That’s a loss of 7,200 jobs, according to the AGCA.
Construction jobs receded 7 percent in Northern Virginia and 8 percent in Hampton Roads.
