Virginia is for lovers of rankings.
The state is the tenth best for entrepreneurs, according to the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, an advocacy group based in Northern Virginia. The Council just released its 2009 rankings. You can see them here.
Virginia is sandwiched between Alabama, at No. 9 and Ohio, at No. 11.
South Dakota won the Council’s top honors.
According to a press release from the organization, the Small Business Survival Index examines 36 government-imposed costs or impediments to small businesses.
The worst location wasn’t even a state: Washington D.C. was No. 51, New Jersey was No. 50.
