I can say, from the past twenty years' experience, that our law firm's clients *love* the fixed fee model. We do estate planning and special needs planning. The concepts can get really complex, and the decisions can be weighty. Having the fixed fee allows our clients to have an educated discussion with us without worrying about the meter running. If individuals are drawn to it, you can bet that business owners will love it. Best of luck!

Tom Grant is a great guy who has done an awful lot of good things for entrepreneurs and start ups. Chip Dicks of FutureLaw is another attorney that bills on a project basis.

This is excellent news for small businesses.

Over the 27 years of owning my business, I have avoided using attorneys because the cost and outcome were unpredictable.

My company provides interior design services and is set up similar to architectural or engineering firms where we are required to provide a scope of services and a fee. I have always felt I should expect the same from a law firm.

I look forward to working with the law firms adopting the "fixed-fee" approach.
