It’s like the Academy Awards, only for local commercial real estate professionals. And without the music to nudge long-winded winners off-stage.
Brokers, developers and architects gathered at the Richmond Marriott on Wednesday night to honor the best commercial real estate projects of 2010.
The Williams Mullen Center, developed by Virginia Beach-based Armada Hoffler, was honored as Project of the Year at last night’s annual real estate awards presented by the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate.
The 16-story building was completed at 10th and Canal streets in early 2010. Its primary tenants are law firm Williams Mullen, accounting firm Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, and Agincourt Capital Management.
The property also won best office building of 2010. Other contenders for that award included the headquarters for Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer and the new headquarters for Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores.
Wednesday’s event marked the 10th year the awards have been held.
