Richmond is home to the five largest law firms in Virginia, according a list published this week by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
Law firms headquartered in the Richmond region also account for a third of the 75 largest law firms in the state, VLW found.
Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2011 list of Virginia’s largest law firms found that McGuireWoods, Hunton & Williams, William Mullen, LeClairRyan and Troutman Sanders make up the five largest law firms in the state.
The rankings are based on the number of licensed lawyers each firm has in its Virginia offices. In all, 25 local law firms made the list.
McGuireWoods stands at the head of the pack statewide with 301 lawyers, according to the list. It’s followed by Hunton & Williams with 270 lawyers, Williams Mullen with 216, LeClairRyan with 162 and Troutman Sanders with 161.
