Law

John S. West has been appointed managing partner at Troutman Sanders. West has been a partner at the firm since 2001 and is deputy group leader of the firm’s white collar and government investigations practice. He succeeds Thomas Fauls. West attended law school at the University of Virginia and attended Furman University as an undergraduate.

Real estate

David M. Smith has been promoted to senior vice president at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. Smith joined Thalhimer in 1989 and focuses on retail and medical sales and leasing. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University as a graduate student and the University of Richmond as an undergraduate.

Construction

Carleton Van Rensselaer joined EDC as a project manager. Carleton was formerly with KBS and ColonialWebb.






William “Bill” Allen joined EDC as a project superintendent. He was formerly with Crossection Inc.

Phillip “Phil” Gillette joined EDC as a project superintendent. He was formerly with Hourigan Construction.

Andrew “Drew” Moretti joined EDC as a project superintendent. He was formerly with Scott Thomas Construction.

Investment banking

John Ellison joined Cary Street Partners as an analyst in its wealth management division. He was previously in the business valuation group at Keiter Stephens.

Media

Danny Finnegan will be promoted to editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch on June 2. He succeeds Glenn Proctor, who retires June 1. Finnegan joined the RTD in 1987 and is currently senior editor of digital operations. He attended James Madison University. (You can read more about that here.)

Insurance

Ryan Kern was promoted to vice president of financial planning and analysis for Mondial Assistance. He was previously director of financial planning and analysis for Mondial. Kern has an MBA from the University of Delaware.

Robert Pearson joined Mondial Assistance as director of market intelligence. He was previously with Capital One. Pearson has an MBA from the University of Texas and attended Texas Tech.

Kerri Moham has been promoted to product manager of travel client services at Mondial Assistance. She was previously manager. Moham attended James Madison University.

Christina Johnson joined Mondial Assistance as manager of general accounting. She was previously controller/CCO for Roseline Financial Group. Johnson attended the University of Maryland University College.

Tim Fitzgerald was promoted to vice president of strategy and corporate planning for Mondial Assistance. He was previously director of sales administration and reporting. Fitzgerald has an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and attended Virginia Tech as an undergraduate.

Carol Gentry joined Mondial Assistance as director of internal communications. She was previously vice president of employee communications for LandAmerica. Gentry attended Wake Forest University.

Scott Dalla Valle has been promoted to director of new product development for Mondial Assistance. He was previously manager of specialty products. Dalla Valle has an MBA from Wake Forest University and attended the University of Connecticut.

Chris Adcock has been promoted to director of business productivity for Mondial Assistance. He was previously manager of business productivity. Adcock attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Andras Koppanyi has joined Mondial Assistance as vice president of underwriting. He was previously with Globex International Group. Koppanyi attended Duke University.

Charles Dickson has been promoted to director of forms compliance for Mondial Assistance. He was previously manager of forms compliance. Dickson attended New York Law School and Babson College.

Cathy McCarthy has been promoted to vice president of channel marketing for Mondial Assistance. She was previously director of online channel. McCarthy has an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Consulting

Rodney Willett has joined Impact Makers as vice president of business strategy. Willett is a former principal with North Highland.

Adam Beck has joined Impact Makers as a consultant.  Beck is a former manager for Capital One.

Boards

Todd Thomson was elected to the boards of directors at Bank of Virginia and Cordia Bancorp. Thomson is founder and chief operating officer of Headwaters Capital.

Laura Lee Garrett has been elected to serve on the City of Richmond’s Partner Sustainability Plan Advisory Committee. She is a partner at Hirschler Fleischer.
