Barbara D. Boyan will become dean of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Engineering in January. She is currently a dean for research and innovation at Georgia Tech. She will replace Charles Jennett. You can read more about Boyan here.

Kyle Flynn joined Kinsale Insurance as an underwriter. Flynn previously worked as an agent at Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance. He attended Virginia Tech.
Sarah Fiorito joined Kinsale Insurance as an associate underwriter. She is a recent graduate of the College of William and Mary.
Jacki Himmel has joined Kinsale Insurance as human resources manager. Jacki previously worked as HR manager at Dynamic Brands. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

BrownGreer recently announced five personnel moves:
Orran L. Brown Jr. is senior counsel. He was previously at McGuireWoods and served as a law clerk to the late U.S. District Judge Richard L. Williams. Brown went to the University of Virginia as an undergraduate and for law school.
Bethany Ann Anderson was promoted to counsel with BrownGreer. Anderson joined BrownGreer in 2010 and develops and implements aspects of the firm’s class action settlement claims review process. She attended George Mason University and has a J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia.
Sydney Marie Avery was promoted to counsel at BrownGreer. Avery attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a J.D. from the University of Richmond.
Rae C. Cousins was promoted to counsel at BrownGreer. Rae joined BrownGreer in 2010. Cousins attended the College of William and Mary and has a J.D. from Howard University.
John C. Bates was promoted to director of facilities with BrownGreer. Bates attended Virginia Commonwealth University.
