Bob Windsor has had enough of the restaurant business.

The local contractor and restaurateur is selling his Boo’s Brown Bag deli in the Fan. The business at 1201 W. Main St. went on the market this week at an asking price of $55,000.

Boo’s Brown Bag is the second eatery Windsor has put up for sale this month. He and his partner put EAT by Pescados restaurant in Oregon Hill on the market in early August.

“I just decided in the last few months I’m going to sell my stuff and go back to being a contractor,” said Windsor, who also runs Bob Windsor Construction. “You have to be there 24/7, and I just can’t be. It just takes all my focus away from what I’ve done for 43 years.”

Boo’s Brown Bag opened in January in a 1,100-square-foot space at Main and Morris streets. It was posted for sale in a Craigslist ad on Wednesday.

Windsor, 62, leases the Boo’s space from prominent Fan landlord Eck Enterprises. He owns the EAT property at 626 China St., where he is trying to selling both the restaurant and the real estate. Windsor said he’s had some nibbles on EAT, but the shop is still on the market.

Boo’s Brown Bag is the second Fan restaurant to hit the market in recent months. Crossroads Coffee & Ice Cream at 26 N. Morris St. was listed for sale this summer.

Well, it’s sad to see anybody’s business venture end. But I honestly never heard of this place and so would think maybe lack of advertising? I get a lot of Richmond related emails and blogs and such and I never heard of the place .
