Michael Thompson joined the crew in September as a reporter. He covers startups, small business, restaurants, advertising/marketing, nonprofits and other business news.
Born in Baltimore to a military family, he’s lived in Tennessee, New York, Washington State, Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia.
After a stint in AmeriCorps and travels abroad, he studied at Northern Virginia Community College before transferring to William & Mary, where he graduated this year with a degree in English.
When he’s not chasing down the next day’s stories, Michael enjoys reading, visiting museums and playing guitar.
