Michael J. Quinan was elected managing partner of Christian & Barton. He succeeds J. Edward Betts, who held the position for 23 years. Quinan will maintain his legal practice principally in the areas of business litigation, administrative law and public utility regulation, and Betts will remain a senior partner in the firm’s antitrust practice group. Quinan joined Christian & Barton in 2004.

Steve Baril was named partner and head of the Richmond litigation and government relations teams at Kaplan Voekler Cunningham and Frank.

David Sump

David H. Sump joined Wilcox Savage as a partner and practices in its Norfolk office. He was previously with Troutman Sanders. Before entering private law practice, Sump served for 14 years as a commissioned officer and law specialist in the Coast Guard. He received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary, an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University and a B.S. from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

The board of directors of the Better Housing Coalition elected Regina Chaney and Todd Waldo to its membership. Chaney is a senior housing education specialist in the Center for Housing Education at Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) of Virginia. Waldo is enterprise engineering manager at Royall & Company.

The following people have been elected to Historic Richmond’s board of trustees: G. William Beale, chief executive of Union First Market Bank; Tracy Doherty, senior director of strategic design at MeadeWestvaco; Susan Fisher, associate broker at Virginia Properties; and Robert A. Vallejo, partner at PwC’s Assurance practice.

Elected officers for the 2014 executive committee are: president, Steven R. Williams of McGuire Woods; vice president, Andrew K. Clark of LeClair Ryan; secretary, David I. Meyers of Troutman Sanders; and treasurer, Daniel P. Healy of Genworth Financial. Elizabeth Carrington Shuff serves on the executive committee as immediate past president.

Mariah Gruner has joined the nonprofit Chrysalis Institute as program coordinator. A 2013 graduate of Tufts University, Gruner will manage the resource and learning center’s public programs.

Berkley Mid-Atlantic Group announced the expansion of its inland marine division. Michael G. McVey leads the team as BMAG’s new inland marine manager.

Casey Richardson, senior engagement manager, previously worked at the Martin Agency. Richardson received a degree in business administration at East Carolina University.

Holly Sigler, interactive media planner/buyer, was previously with the Martin Agency. She graduated from Hollins University with a degree in business/finance.

Denise Goff, media buyer for broadcast and print, was previously with Lewis Media Partners. Goff also worked at the Martin Agency, WFofR and Barber Martin in Richmond.

Catherine Davis, account coordinator managing the Brand Ambassador program, joined the agency after completing an internship in the marketing department of Elizabeth Arden in New York. She received a marketing degree from High Point University.
