Park Sterling Corp. announced the hiring of the following hires:

George Meyls joins Park Sterling as senior vice president and head of private banking. Meyls was most recently private banking director at StellarOne Bank. Meyls attended Roanoke College and is a certified financial planner.

Russell Carter, most recently a trust advisor at Union First Market Bank in Richmond, joins Park Sterling as a trust advisor. He attended Howard University and has a J.D. from Touro Law School in New York.

Angela Ross joins Park Sterling as chief marketing officer. Ross was most recently chief branding officer at StellarOne, and held roles at La-Z-Boy, Inc. and Circuit City. She earned her B.A. and MBA at the University of Virginia.

The King Agency appointed William J. Boger to the role of account strategist. Prior to returning to TKA, Boger led the marketing and advertising efforts at Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists and PartnerMD. Boger attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Technology

Edwin Machado recently joined Networking Technologies and Support, Inc. as a support center analyst.

Architecture

H&A Architects & Engineers announced its new director of operations is Jared Jamison. Jamison was named a senior associate at H&A in 2011 and then became a vice president in 2013, while serving as the operations manager. He earned a bachelors and masters in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from Virginia Tech, and an MBA from VCU.

Hunton & Williams announced the promotion to counsel of Kimberlee W. DeWitt and Christy E. Kiely.

DeWitt, of the Richmond office, joined the firm in 2001. She received her law degree from William & Mary School of Law in 2000 and her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in 1995.

Kiely, also of Richmond, joined the firm in 2002. She graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1998 and received her law degree from Duke University School of Law in 2002.

Kaufman & Canoles promoted Matthew B. Chmiel to partner of the firm’s Richmond office. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Chmiel earned his B.S. from the University of Richmond and his J.D. from University of Richmond School of Law.

Stacey Hill joined Long & Foster’s Tuckahoe office. Hill will  work with homebuyers and sellers.

Ken Edwards joined the company as a sales associate in Long & Foster’s Harbour Pointe office in Midlothian. Edwards has a bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Richmond. Prior to his career as a real estate broker, Edwards worked 20 years as a Richmond area real estate attorney and 10 years as a residential home builder.
