MeadWestvaco board member James M. Kilts informed the company that he will step down from the board. He has served on the board since 2006 and is the former chief executive of the Gillette Company.

Dixon Hughes Goodman hired Brian Burns as a senior manager in the Richmond office. Prior to joining the firm, Burns was a manager at Keiter.

Finance

Silvercrest Asset Management Group appointed A. Marshall Acuff, Jr. and Palmer P. Garson as managing directors.

Acuff will be a member of Silvercrest’s investment policy and strategy committee. Acuff established the AMA Investment Counsel, LLC in Richmond and, before that, spent more than three decades at Smith Barney. He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and the University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Business Administration.

Palmer co-founded Jefferson Capital Partners, and worked for Morgan Stanley & Co., A.G. Edwards and Mellon Bank. Garson has a B.A. from Duke University and a MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Richmond Brewery Tours hired Lake Wagner and Jay Burnham. Wagner is a 2010 business school graduate from Virginia Tech and is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Richmond. Burnham is a 2004 graduate from Elon University. Burnham also works for the Richmond Flying Squirrels as a radio broadcaster and media relations manager.

Nick Allen has been named head of Wells Fargo’s new actuarial services practice. Allen was most recently with Bryan, Pendleton, Swats & McAllister, LLC, a Wells Fargo company. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s in mathematics.

Lewis Little joined NAI Eagle as a senior associate. Little’s focus will be on industrial, office, and land brokerage. He was most recently with Colliers International.

Long & Foster Real Estate’s Dan Schwab earned associate broker status. Schwab is an agent with the company’s Harbour Pointe office in Midlothian.

Sports/Entertainment

The Richmond Flying Squirrels hired Marty Steele as director of corporate sales. Steele was previously the general manager of the Greensboro Hornets, Hickory Crawdads and Charlotte Knights. Steele is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and received his J.D from the University of San Diego Law School.

Ben Terry has joined Arena Racing USA as vice president of corporate partnerships. Terry worked 11 seasons at The Diamond where he most recently was director of corporate sales with the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Non profit

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts hired Claudia Keenan to fill the newly created position of executive director of the VMFA Foundation and deputy director for resources and visitor experience. Keenan begins on April 16 and has been vice president of external relations at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk since 2008.

Linné DiIorio returns to the Greater Richmond Convention Center as the new director of sales and marketing. DiIorio was most recently the marketing manager at HCA Virginia Health System.

Big River hired Kai Fang as chief creative officer. Fang previously worked at Mullen, BBDO and Arnold Worldwide. Fang received an undergraduate degree in advertising from the Art Center College of Design. Fang has a master’s degree in film and electronic media from American University, and a master’s in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

Funeral Homes

Bernie Henderson has been named president of Woody Funeral Home. Henderson most recently served as funeral celebrant and director for family and community relations and first started at Woody in 2010.

Brink’s Co. appointed Susan E. Docherty as its newest board member, effective March 4.

Acme Paper and Supply Company made the following announcements:

The company added Barry Barker to its Richmond sales team. Prior to joining Acme, Barker spent 17 years at Cascades selling to industrial accounts. He was sales director of Cascades’ natural Kraft mill in Quebec for seven years.

Acme also added Thomas Watson to its Richmond sales team. Watson previously worked as an assistant project manager for Better Housing Coalition. Watson earned his B.S. in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
