Sam Schaffer recently was promoted to operations manager at Geoff McDonald & Associates. Schaffer joined the firm in October 2012. He received his B.A. in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia in 2012.

Marshall H. Ross formerly with Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver in Harrisonburg has joined the firm’s health care litigation team.

Robyn P. Ayres, Douglas E. Penner and Nancy L. Foti have been made shareholders of the firm.

HCA Virginia’s John Randolph Medical Center named Aimee Cocolin as the vice-president of operations. Cocolin previously served as the assistant administrator at HCA Dominion Hospital. She received her bachelor’s degree from Radford University and her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.

Barber Martin Agency announced that Matt Norton has joined the agency as its newest senior art director. Norton is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the VCU Brandcenter.

John Cario has been named vice president/general manager for HRI Lodging. Cario joined HRI Lodging in March 2010 as general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown. Cario graduated from James Madison University in Harrisburg.

Long & Foster Real Estate made the following announcements:

Nancy Steinke earned associate broker status. Steinke is an agent with Long & Foster’s Harbour Pointe office and has been affiliated with the company since 2009.

Stephen Kramer, a sales associate with Long & Foster, obtained his associate broker license. Kramer has been affiliated with the company’s Tuckahoe office for five years.

Glavé & Holmes Architecture added the following 13 new full-time employees to the firm:

Jill Nolt joined G&HA’s Higher Education Studio as an associate studio leader. She was previously with 3North. Nolt earned her undergraduate degree and dual master’s degrees from the University of Virginia.

Stephen Hershey previously worked for Grunley Construction and earned his bachelor’s from UVA and a master’s from Virginia Tech.

Winnie Sung joined the firm from Clark Nexsen with a bachelor’s from the University of California at Berkeley and master’s from the University of Michigan.

Jamelle Wilson has been elected to serve as chair for the YMCA of Greater Richmond for the next two years. Wilson previously served as vice-chair of the board. She succeeds Marilyn Norman who served from 2012-2013.

The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation has elected two business leaders to serve on the board of directors. They are:
