Starbucks announced the locations of the first round of store closings, and none are in Richmond. Five are in Virginia. The Seattle-based company will close 600 stores nationwide.
Last week BizSense reported that baristas at three different locations said their managers told them that the Richmond locations are not on the chopping block. Many said their stores are still busy despite an economic slowdown. Virginia Closures: • Spotsylvania Towne Centre at 137 Spotsylvania Towne Ctr. in Fredericksburg, Va. • Madison Crescent at 8006 Crescent Park Dr. in Gainesville, Va. • Power Plant at 1984 Power Plant Pkwy. in Hampton, Va. • Patrick Henry Mall at 12300 Jefferson Ave. in Newport News, Va. • Stonewall Plaza at 240 Rivendell Ct. in Winchester, Va.
