Starbucks announced the locations of the first round of store closings, and none are in Richmond. Five are in Virginia. The Seattle-based company will close 600 stores nationwide.

Last week BizSense reported that baristas at three different locations said their managers told them that the Richmond locations are not on the chopping block. Many said their stores are still busy despite an economic slowdown.

I'm not sure how long this store has been there, but I just spotted it yesterday. Glad to see it is not closing.

The Starbucks @ Spotsylvania Mall is 5 minutes away from the Starbucks @ Central Park (Fredericksburg). The Starbucks @ Power Plant is 5 minutes away from the Starbucks on Colisuem Drive (Hampton). I don't know about the other 3 Starbucks but these two at least overlapped with other Starbucks only 5 minutes away.
