RICHMOND, Va., Mar. 9, 2010 – Mondial Assistance, a global travel insurance and assistance company with U.S. operations in Henrico County, today announced their 2010 travel scholarship program, ScholarTrips, which is available to Richmond area middle and high school students. The new scholarship replaces the Access Abroad scholarship, offered since 2004 to Henrico County middle and high school students. Four recipients will receive scholarships of $2,500 for study abroad programs. The scholarships will be presented by Mondial Assistance President and CEO Jon Ansell at a ceremony at the company’s headquarters (2805 N. Parham Road).
Students can apply by visiting the Mondial Assistance ScholarTrips website at http://scholartrips.org. An additional scholarship will be awarded to the child or grandchild of a Mondial Assistance associate. RICHMOND, VA – Due to in climate weather conditions, the Richmond Flying Squirrels have postponed their scheduled Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce Open House, which was to be held at The Diamond this evening from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. The event has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 24th, and will be held in conjunction with the Richmond Better Business Bureau Open House at The Diamond from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

These companies sponsored the museum’s annual fundraising event last Friday evening, at which more than 300 people enjoyed the sights and sounds of Italy. With six Ferraris placed around the museum, complements of the Richmond Ferrari Owners Group, and Italian food and drink donated by Amici Ristorante, White House Catering, Bacchus, Gelati Celesti and Pallini Limonchello, the event raised more than $90,000 for the museum’s scholarship fund – providing free museum admission for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds over the next year.
